Trofeo Costa del Sol

The Trofeo Costa del Sol originated during Julio Parres López’s presidency, and was held 33 times. The inaugural event took place on May 29, 1961, without CD Málaga’s participation. The last edition occurred in 2017, with Lazio claiming the title. Economic and sporting crises following the team’s relegation to the Second Division led to its cessation, marking an end to the tournament.
