From the airport to the city
Gran Canaria Airport is the main gateway to the island. It is situated 18 kilometres from the capital and is connected by the ‘guagua’ service (as buses are known in the Canary Islands) operated by Global, as well as by taxi. The journey takes between 20 and 30 minutes.
In the city
The city centre can be explored on foot thanks to its flat layout and mild climate all year round. The main public transport service is provided by Guaguas Municipales, with its distinctive yellow buses. You can also choose to take a taxi or hire a bicycle or scooter. The city has fifty kilometres of cycle lanes for these vehicles.
How to get to the stadium
The Gran Canaria Stadium is situated in the upper part of the city, in the Siete Palmas neighbourhood, so it is advisable to travel there by public transport: bus routes 44, 45 and 26 connect it with the Puerto-Canteras area, and route 91 with the Vegueta-Triana area. The stadium has an open-air car park with free access.
Parking
If you choose to travel by car, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has a network of public car parks managed by the municipal company Sagulpa. There are regulated on-street parking zones, marked as ‘blue zones’ and ‘green zones’. Payment for the service can be made at parking meters or via the LPA Park app.
