La Roja’s debut in Málaga

Málaga’s link with the Spanish national team goes back a long way, but it was on 21st February 1973 when it materialised in the first international match at La Rosaleda. It was a qualifier for the 1974 World Cup in Germany, against Greece (3-1), and for the first time, three CD Málaga players were called up.
