Córdoba, in the top flight for the first time

Córdoba CF were promoted to the First Division for the first time on 1 April 1962 after beating Recreativo 4–0 in Huelva, and made their LaLiga debut on 16 September 1962. In their first match in the top flight, against Valladolid at El Arcángel, it took Córdoba 59 minutes to score their first-ever goal in the competition, netted by Juanín into the South Stand goal.
