Carmen Neighbourhood

El Carmen is probably the best place to start exploring historic Valencia. Its narrow streets, squares and medieval buildings make it one of the city’s most characterful neighbourhoods, but it’s also a particularly lively area as evening falls.

Among its streets you’ll find bars, outdoor terraces, restaurants and plenty of local life. It’s a great place to wander aimlessly, especially around the Plaza del Tossal and the Plaza del Negrito.

What’s more, from here you can easily reach other must-see spots in the historic centre, such as the Serranos Towers, the Cathedral and the Plaza de la Virgen.
