RCDE Stadium

The RCDE Stadium is the home of RCD Espanyol and one of Spain‘s most modern football venues. Opened in 2009, it replaced the historic Sarrià stadium and marked the end of the club’s temporary stay at the Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc. Its construction represented a significant milestone in Espanyol’s modernisation, providing the club with facilities designed to meet the demands of contemporary football.

Designed with a strong emphasis on functionality, the stadium is renowned for its excellent sightlines and the close proximity between spectators and the pitch. These features have helped create an intense and distinctive atmosphere during matches. Shortly after its inauguration, the venue received several international awards recognising its architectural design and innovation.

Located between Cornellà de Llobregat and El Prat de Llobregat, the RCDE Stadium has established itself as one of the leading sporting landmarks in the Barcelona metropolitan area. In addition to hosting football matches, the stadium regularly welcomes cultural events, corporate activities and organised tours, reinforcing its role as a multifunctional venue serving the wider community.

HOW TO GET THERE
The RCDE Stadium is located around 10 kilometres from Barcelona city centre and is easily accessible by public transport. The most convenient option is to take metro line L5 to Cornellà Centre, where passengers can transfer to tram lines T1 and T2 and continue to either Les Aigües or Cornellà-Riera. The stadium can also be reached via the Rodalies commuter rail network, with services stopping at Cornellà station. Several metropolitan bus routes connect the stadium with Barcelona and other municipalities in the Baix Llobregat area. Visitors travelling by car will benefit from the stadium’s proximity to Barcelona’s main ring roads.
