Park Güell

Park Güell is one of Barcelona’s most distinctive landmarks and one of Antoni Gaudí’s great works. Originally conceived as an exclusive residential development, the project eventually evolved into a remarkable park filled with organic shapes, colourful mosaics and imaginative architectural features. The famous dragon staircase, Hypostyle Room and Nature Square are among its most recognisable sights. As well as discovering Gaudí’s architecture, visitors can explore landscaped areas and enjoy magnificent panoramic views across Barcelona. Since 1984, Park Güell has formed part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognising Gaudí’s architectural works and celebrating it as an outstanding example of his creativity and unique approach to architecture.

• The park was originally planned as an exclusive residential development.
• The famous dragon on the staircase is covered in trencadís, a mosaic technique using small pieces of broken ceramics.
• Only two of the 60 houses originally planned for the development were ever built.

Price: General admission: €18. Children aged 7–12 and over-65s: €13.50. Under-7s: free.
