Spain 1982 World Cup in Málaga

La Rosaleda was one of the 17 stadiums chosen to host matches at the 1982 World Cup, with three Group 6 matches: Scotland–New Zealand (5-2), USSR-New Zealand (3-0) and USSR-Scotland (2-2). To host those memorable matches, the stadium of the then CD Málaga was expanded to have a capacity of 42,000.
