Origins of football in Malaga

On 3rd April 1904, the first recorded football match was played in Malaga. The origin of the current Málaga CF was the Málaga Football Club, which had been founded in the early months of 1903 and over the years underwent various name changes and splits: FC Malagueño, Real Málaga FC, Málaga Sport Club, Club Deportivo Malacitano, Club Deportivo Málaga, Club Atlético Malagueño and, finally, Málaga CF.
