Mesa y López shopping centre

Around Avenida Mesa y López, department stores and shops, the Central Market, and leisure and dining venues bring the city’s most important shopping area – alongside Triana – to life.
Always bustling, the pedestrianised section of this long boulevard stretches as far as Plaza de España, a green space surrounded by cafés and an iconic spot for football fans: this is where they celebrate their greatest victories. In the centre of the square stands the sculpture group ‘Monument to the Primitive Activities of the Canary Islands’, by the artist Luis Alemán Montull. Every other Saturday, the square hosts performances by the island’s folk groups.
Walking along Mesa y López towards the sea, we reach the Yacht Club and Las Alcaravaneras, one of Spain’s finest harbour beaches, ideal for family fun and sporting activities.
