Gran Teatro Falla
Carnival is one of the hallmarks of Cádiz, and the Teatro Falla, the venue for its famous Official Carnival Group Competition (COAC), is one of its cornerstones.
Built as the Gran Teatro de Cádiz between 1885 and 1910, it was named after the famous musician from Cádiz in 1926. Architecturally, it is distinguished by its Neo-Mudejar style featuring exposed brickwork and horseshoe arches, with Nasrid-inspired decoration inside and a monumental painting in the foyer.
In addition to the packed carnival programme in January and February, the theatre hosts a varied programme of events throughout the year, including theatre, opera, dance and concerts.
