Canarian folklore

On Saturday and Sunday mornings in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, you can enjoy folklore and traditions in two unique venues: Plaza de España and the Pueblo Canario.

Plaza de España hosts performances by folk groups and workshops on traditional games twice a month on Saturdays. Yet another reason to visit this part of the city, where football fans have a special passion for the game and celebrate their victories.

On Sundays, the place to go for folklore is the Pueblo Canario. Situated in the Ciudad Jardín neighbourhood, within Doramas Park, this venue is inspired by traditional Canarian architecture. On its terrace, groups entertain the public with traditional music and dance, dressed in the traditional costume of Gran Canaria designed by the artist Néstor Martín, who, together with his brother Miguel, created this little village.
