Triana

Triana is one of the city’s historic neighbourhoods and one of its most traditional open-air shopping areas. Triana’s Calle Mayor, its main thoroughfare, is a bustling pedestrianised street which, together with its surrounding streets, is home to a wide variety of shops, entertainment venues and restaurants. Along its length, visitors can admire the Modernist buildings.

We can also find traces of Modernism in one of the kiosks in San Telmo Park, situated at one end of Calle Triana, and in Plaza de Cairasco, where the Gabinete Literario is located.

Trivia:
– ‘Allied’, starring Brad Pitt, and ‘The Mother’, starring Jennifer López, are just some of the films that have been shot at the Gabinete Literario.
– The Pérez Galdós House Museum, on Calle Cano, displays personal belongings, the library and the furniture of this giant of world literature, who was born in this house in Triana in 1843.
